The Okabo Development Association (ODA), Dutse Axis Abuja Chapter, on Saturday, successfully held its End-of-Year Celebration in an atmosphere of unity, appreciation, and renewed commitment to the development of Okabo community.
In his address, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ibrahim Labran, expressed profound gratitude to members for their dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering support throughout the year.
He commended the collective spirit of the Dutse Axis, describing it as a strong pillar within the broader ODA family. He also specially acknowledged the presence of the Overall Chairman of the Okabo Development Association (ODA), Abuja Chapter, Maraba Branch, Mr. Isah Ugbede, whose attendance symbolized unity, effective leadership, and cooperation among ODA chapters and axes in Abuja.
Mr. Labran called on all sons and daughters of Okabo to continue to uphold unity, love, and mutual respect, emphasizing that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective effort and a shared vision.
He further appealed to the Kogi State Government to come to the aid of the Okabo community, particularly in the provision of a functional borehole and grant-in-aid support for the Comprehensive Secondary School, Okabo, noting that these interventions are critical to improving the welfare and educational development of the people.
In his own remarks, the Secretary of the Association, Mr. Israel Ibrahim Enebi, thanked members for their consistent support, loyalty, and genuine love for the association. He applauded the unity and cooperation among members, describing it as the driving force behind the progress recorded by the Dutse Axis. Mr. Enebi also urged members to remain punctual and committed to meetings and activities, stressing that discipline, participation, and collective responsibility are essential for the growth and effectiveness of the association.
Mr. Israel Ibrahim Enebi further pleaded with the Kogi State Government to urgently extend its support to Okabo community by addressing critical needs, especially the borehole project and grant-in-aid assistance for the Comprehensive Secondary School, Okabo. He emphasized that such interventions would go a long way in improving access to clean water and strengthening the educational foundation of the community.
The event concluded on a high note, with members reaffirming their commitment to unity, peace, and community-driven development. The End-of-Year celebration served not only as a festive gathering but also as a renewed call to collective action toward the growth and advancement of Okabo community.
