To: His Excellency
Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo
Executive Governor of Kogi State.

Your Excellency,

I, Hon. Abdulhamid Ataba Oporo, Youth President of the Ozi Ogu Clan, write this open letter to you with a humble heart and the deepest respect on behalf of my people, the entire Ozi Ogu Clan of Ajaokuta Local Government.

This letter is not written out of anger, but out of pain, and with a sincere plea for fairness, justice, and a balanced political structure in Ajaokuta Local Government.

Ajaokuta is historically known as the ancestral home of the Anebira nation, a land where seven to eight major clannish groups are meant to coexist as one united family. Sadly, recent political developments have created division, sentiment, and a painful form of segregation that has singled out one clan, the Ozi Ogu Clan, for exclusion.

For years, we watched quietly, hoping that the system would correct itself.

In the entire history of Ajaokuta Local Government, not one person from the Ogu Clan has ever been elected Chairman.

Yet again, in the ongoing arrangement for the next chairmanship election, we are witnessing the same injustice.

Your Excellency, we have a brother, someone whom you know very well, and whom everyone acknowledges as a loyal, dedicated, and committed party man who has paid his dues. He contested wholeheartedly, yet once again he was denied simply because he is Ozi Ogu by clan, and the ticket was given to someone who is not even from the Ebira clans who are the original custodians of Ajaokuta Local Government.

Sir, with all humility, we appeal to you: Do not allow the personal interests of a an individual to create division, bitterness, or disunity within our land.

The Ozi Ogu Clan has always supported the party. We have stood by every candidate to date, faithfully, consistently, and without complaint.

That is why we ask, from the depth of our hearts: What is our sin?

Why is our loyalty rewarded with exclusion?

Why does the system continue to push tribe into political positions in our own ancestral land, while sidelining the people who have been nothing but peaceful and loyal?

This pattern is not only painful, it is against the principles of equity, justice, and the very spirit of democracy.

Your Excellency, we believe in your leadership. We believe in your compassion. We believe in your commitment to fairness. The principles of good governance emphasize balanced representation, inclusion, and equitable distribution of opportunities, yet the Ozi Ogu Clan has been deliberately left out.

We say again with humility: our hearts are heavy.

Why is the Ozi Ogu Clan the only exception in Ajaokuta’s political arrangement?
Why are we treated as though our voices and contributions do not matter?

This is why we say, with sincerity, and without any form of threat, that enough is enough.
It is not a cry of rebellion, but a call for fairness, dignity, and our rightful place in the political structure of our Local Government.

Politics should unite us, not divide us. It should bring progress, not discrimination. It should give every clan a sense of belonging, not silence one clan repeatedly.

Today, the Ozi Ogu Clan stands in urgent need of political justice. We trust that under your leadership, equity will be restored, justice will prevail, and no clan will feel abandoned or unwanted in their own ancestral home.

Thank you, Your Excellency, for taking the time to listen to our plea. We remain hopeful in your sense of fairness and your commitment to unity, peace, and justice for all the people of Ajaokuta Local Government.

Respectfully,
Hon. Abdulhamid Ataba Oporo
Ozi Ogu Youth President
