Former Kogi State guber aspirant, finance expert, and community leader Prince Adebanji Jimoh has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman.
Hon. Banji described the appointment of Prof Joash Ojo Amupitan by the president as a masterstroke & symbolic. He commended the president for considering, for the first time, a nominee from the North Central.
Coming from the same Okun extraction and an ally of the learned scholar for over forty – five years, he asserted that his schooling and academic records are verifiable, and his integrity can not be doubted.
He further posited that Prof. Amupitan possesses the experience, finesse, and charisma in shaping electoral reforms and jurisprudence in election matters.
” I know the Professor of Law to be highly principled, honest, disciplined, and quintessentially religious. He is not only going to articulate the bye- laws of the electoral body, but he will ensure that they work in order to guarantee seamless elections in Nigeria,” he affirmed.
He further said, human compromise and election manipulations has often been the bane of our electoral system but given the antecedence, financial discipline and moral upbringing of the highly – revered scholar, he has the mindset and heart set to establishing a transparent, credible and fair elections.
He concluded that with impeccable track records in the public service, Prof. Amupitan will lead with courage and fear of God in order to improve & and sustain the credibility index of his predecessor.
