The Ebira Doctors’ Forum (EDF) has expressed its joy and appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for approving a modest motivation allowance for doctors in the state civil service.

The EDF gave the commendation in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja, jointly signed by its President and Secretary of Dr Zubair Kabiru and Dr Shaibu Moses.

The Forum described the move as a step in the right direction towards stemming brain drain in the state’s health sector.

The EDF believes that this intervention will significantly reduce the impact of skilled manpower shortage in the state, thereby strengthening the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people.

The forum commended the governor’s visionary leadership and listening disposition, which has brought about a breakthrough in addressing a long-standing challenge in the state’s health sector.

The EDF also commended the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, and other members of the forum serving in executive capacities within the state government.

“Their high-level diplomacy, patience, and commitment have been instrumental in bringing resolution to the challenge, demonstrating the power of peaceful engagement and constructive dialogue,” EDF stated.

The forum expressed its confidence that the collaborative spirit between the government and healthcare personnel will catalyze transformation and set the Kogi State health sector on the path to remarkable progress and sustainable growth.

The EDF appreciated the governor and all stakeholders who worked tirelessly to make this breakthrough possible.

“We deeply appreciate His Excellency for his listening disposition and visionary leadership, as well as all stakeholders who worked tirelessly to make this breakthrough possible.

“This collaborative spirit between government and healthcare personnel is a true catalyst for transformation.

“With this renewed partnership, we are confident that the Kogi State health sector is set for remarkable progress and sustainable growth,” the forum said.
