Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the Kogi East senatorial seat, formally entering the race.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Mr. Alfa said his candidacy is anchored on what he described as the need for “purposeful and effective representation,” following months of consultations across communities in the district.
He affirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed alignment with the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, while pledging to support the party regardless of the outcome of its primary process.
Mr. Alfa said the acquisition of the forms represents a procedural step in a broader effort to expand opportunities and strengthen representation for the people of Kogi East.
