Political and non-partisan leaders from Kogi West senatorial district has reiterated that it is the turn of the zone to produce the next Governor of Kogi State, twenty- two years after the current political dispensation.
The call was made during a recent meeting organized by a group, Kogi West Initiative (KWI), in Abuja.
The meeting, chaired by Senator Tunde Ogbeha, unanimously agreed that Kogi West should be considered for the position of the Governor in 2023 in view of the fact that the other two Senatorial Districts in the state have already occupied the position.
The meeting, which was attended by Prince Sola Akanmode, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, Hajia Khadijat Ibrahim, Alhaji Umar Mohammed, Chief Funsho Owoyemi, Hon. Ado Shuaibu and a host of others, stressed the need for the people of the Western Senatorial District to remain united and to speak with one voice in their demand and agitation for the governorship seat of the State in 2023.
The leaders emphasised the need to peacefully make this demand and continue to agitate for the governorship seat of Kogi State in 2023, by interfacing with other senatorial districts, groups and critical stakeholders all over Kogi State.
The meeting agreed to constitute a contact committee that would reach out to the leadership of different political parties, groups and other critical stakeholders in other senatorial districts to support the aspiration of Kogi West.
