As time counts is almost forty eight hours to the Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States Gubernatorial primary elections, all eyes seems to be more on Kogi because of it’s murky waters and dicy situations. Of course, many aspirants purchased the nomination forms and a few boastful of winning.
In Kogi East and Central Senatorial District, at least two people are respectively working around the clock while in Kogi West, there seem to be no too powerful aspirants. Although most of the contenders and their supporters are still waiting on the directive of the Governor, lobbying and mind game is now at its peak among the aspirants.
Despite the keenness in the contest, when the primary is conducted on Friday, only one person will be declared the party’s standard flagbearer and hopefully, successor of the incumbent Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello. However, only one man is standing out as the cynosure of all eyes and has become the common contender of the major contenders. His name is Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka and he is the current Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress. And like V said in his book – the Mafia Manager: “a meeting is said to be over when the participants start repeating themselves” is the exact scenario in Kogi State right now.
Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka’s sterling track records and outstanding popularity has exuded uncommon coverage that he is the fear of all aspirants. Popularly known as ‘Muri Ajaka’ within and outside Kogi State has shown that he is not a pushover but very prepared, ready to serve and continue from where Governor Yahaya Bello is going to stop.
Hon Yakubu Murtala Ajaka has a clear cut vision, has carved a niche for himself in partisan politics with over fifteen years experience and firmly etched his feet on the sands of history by his glowing philanthropic gestures geared towards meeting the needs of his people at the right times.
Muri Ajaka is most known by rural dwellers for his numerous light up projects and aide to flood victims. Apart from being the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, he has also served in different administrative capacities through the rank and file which he used to improve the lots of his people. Banking on his hard work and track records, Muri promises to move Kogi forward when he becomes the Governor. He is a loyal party man and would certainly not cause rancour when he is nominated by the party as its standard flagbearer for the November 11th gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
Among all the contestants, he towers far above them in terms of national integration, community service and preparedness. He is very popular among his colleagues in the National Secretariat, everyone knows his antecedents and reach. Consequently, many of the aspirants are scared of his rooted feet and made deliberate efforts at pushing him out of the contest but to the glory of God, he has crossed all the huddles intended at stopping him from participating in the Primaries.
He is not a ‘cut and join’ politician but one thoroughly bred with the right orientation, experience and leadership skills to govern at every top level. He has offered himself for service and deserves every support needed to succeed. Kogi is ours to preserve, Kogi is ours to build, let’s join hands with the man that is very capable to deliver. Let’s all rally round Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.
