2023 Ekinrin-Adde Day: Pace-Setting Kogi Community to Honour Eminent Personalities on Cultural Carnival Day

The cosmopolitan and pace-setting people of Ekinrin-Adde, in Ijumu local government area of Kogi State have gotten preparations in top gear, towards making the 2023 edition of their annual community day celebration a grand event.

This year event which promises to be a top-notch and colourful cultural carnival holds on Saturday, June 24, 2023. 

Part of the very exciting activities that are lined up for the event include: fund-raising for on-going social infrastructure development initiatives and exhibition.

A number of deserving eminent Ekinrin-Adde compatriots as well as friends of the trailblazing  community have been listed to be honoured with awards of excellence and honourary chieftaincy titles.

According to a press statement signed by Mr. Victor Adewale Adekanye, the National Publicity Secretary of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), eight distinguished personalities will bag the community’s honorary Ccieftaincy titles, while five others will be inducted into the prestigious ‘Omo-Atata Hall of Fame’.

Also, five distinguished community leaders will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The Grand Star Award of the year will be bagged by an outstanding awardee who shone like a million star in the course of the year, while five distinguished sons and daughters of the community who are adjudged to have made remarkable impacts and contributions to the development of the community will be honoured with the Distinguished Community Service Awards.

Mr. Adekanye further stated that while the chieftaincy titles, Grand Star and the Lifetime Achievement Awards will be conferred on the awardees at the Baptist High School open field on Saturday June 24, 2023, the Distinguished Community Service Awards and induction into the Omo-Atata Hall of Fame will hold at the Ekinrin Adde Event Centre at a dinner event on Friday June 23, 2023.

As usual, the different categories of cultural activities lined up for the carnival will show-case the very rich cultural heritage of the Ekinrin-Adde people in an  atmosphere of glitz, glamour, pomp and pageantry.

The carnival will have His Royal Majesty, the Olu -Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu (ACA) Ahe-Maworo 1 as the Chief Host, while the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
