A Kogi state lawmaker and member representing Ankpa II constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu today declared his intention to contest for the position he currently occupies in the 2019 general elections on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The declaration which came few days after the All Progressives Congress, APC released timetable as well as its preparatory modalities for the 2019 election witnessed a large turn out of supporters, political leaders, ethno-social frontiers and even people from the communities that played his of his declaration.
While addressing faithfuls at Ofugo shortly after paying homage to the Onu-Ofugo, the honorable member pointed out that his decision to seek reelection was among other things propelled by the need to consolidate on his immediate legacies which he highlighted stressing that such continuity will also balance the existence “gentleman” power shift arrangement between Ojoku and Enjema districts which makes up Ankpa II constituency.
The dual declaration which attracted party stalwarts had party chieftains a and the several speakers extolling Hon Rabiu in a development which was not only unprecedented but set a new paradigm in popularity test and masses acceptance owing to the level of cheers, encomium and ovation credited to the honorable in the course of the event.
Notable among dignitaries that greeted the declaration ceremony were the Kogi State commissioner for rural development, Hon Enema Paul, chairman of the Kogi East and Ankpa federal constituency Elders Advisory Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheja and Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims respectively the Ankpa local government APC chairman, Hon Abdullahi Zakari as well as other executives and Coordinators of the APC.
Others included the Ankpa local government administrator, Hon Mohammed Ibrahim, Members representing Ankpa 1 and Dekina/Biraidu constituency, Hon Ahmed Mohammed and Hon Edoko Moses Ododo respectively, a house of representatives aspirant, Alhaji Jelil Yahaya and a host of other well wishers from within and outside Ankpa local government area.
Highlight of the day was musical and cultural displays as the Inyologu-Ogoba events was a repetition of Ofugo activities save for the royal homage paid to Onu-Ojoku, HRH, Alhaji Mohammed Ogbe for his blessings and goodwill.
It is worthy of note that until his resolution to seek reelection, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu has since assumption of office maintained a highly increasing support base which didn’t just endear him to his constituents but made him a political asset to his native Igala land and Kogi state in general.
