The Nigeria People Congress (NPC), Kogi state chapter, has vowed to take over Lugard House, in the 2019 Kogi State governorship election.

The NPC said when it assumes power after the election, it would pursue the populist welfare programmes that would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Kogi State.

Aliyu assured that the party would never allow selfish and individual satisfaction to be the hallmark of NPC as mostly displaced by some politicians in the country, saying the nationalists apart from being transparent, “they were concerned with the welfare of the people”.

The chairman called on the people of the state to identify with the lofty ideals and the objectives of the party by joining and supporting the NPC to usher in new lease of life and people oriented administration.

“NPC is the only party in Nigeria that is committed to the ideals of our founding fathers and is desirous to replicate them so as to remove Kogi state and the country from the doldrums of retrogression suffered in the hands of successive administrations.

“Kogi state had suffered enough of stagnation and underdevelopment when compare the state with others states created the same day.

No sector in the state is functioning right now and the only solution is a purposeful leadership which NPC can offer.

“Our NPC is not a party of rhetoric, it is a party of action and fulfilment, we are known for transparency and accountability and we will displace these in Kogi state and the country at large”, Aliyu stated.

The party expressed optimism that it would win the forthcoming senatorial, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly elections next year.

Addressing newsmen and supporters of the party in Lokoja yesterday, the party state chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu, said NPC is the only party that is committed to the heroic and transparent ideals of the nation’s founding fathers: Sir Ahmadu Bello, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, among others.
