Hon. Nda Aaron, the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Yahaya Bello on Mobilisation, has appealed to the people of Adankolo community (Ward ‘A’), Lokoja, to collectively intensify their support for His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and President Muhammadu Buhari for continuity in 2019 general elections.
Aaron made the call at a meeting organised by Ward ‘A’ GYB Youth Leaders’ Forum, tagged: “Easter Get Together & GYB/PMB Continuity”, at Adankolo Confluence Motel on Monday in Lokoja.
Aaron, whose appointment as SSA to the governor clocked one year on April 1, appreciated the people for standing by him and for their unflinching support for GYB and his new direction team.
He also commended his constituents for giving him the opportunity to stand before them to solicit for their continuous  support for GYB administration, saying the governor would not disappoint them.
According to Aaron, the people of Ward  ‘A’ have never enjoyed any dividend of democracy under the past Administrations in spite their voting strength as the largest ward with the highest population of voters in Kogi state.
He added that the ward has 23 polling units with highly populated valuable voters of an average of about 1500 voters per polling unit, saying it was unfortunate that it has never translated into relative development of the area.
Aaron noted that the Ward had been facing lots of challenges due to lack of love and unity among the constituents to collectively stand their ground and made demand for their rights from the previous governments.
“Population is power; unity is strength, but we have been marginalized due to lack of unity among us as a people.
“Let us see ourselves as one and foster unity and collectively support the New Direction Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in order to really enjoy the dividends of democracy this time around.
“If I am the SSA on Mobilisation and I cannot educate and sensitize my people in my ward, how would I mobilize the whole Kogi state?
“Let us sensitise our people especially the eligible voters to go and register, get their PVC and come out en masse to re-elect GYB/PMB for continuity because the duo have performed very well.
“Leadership is not about yourself but about services to mankind. This meeting has enable all the stakeholders in ward ‘A’ to collaborate, unite, go back to our unit and  collectively work together to achieve our common goals.
“Let us believe and realign ourselves with the new direction government so as to have more appointments from government in our area who will join me in agitating for our community course, because I cannot do it alone,” Aaron said.
Aaron appreciated the governor for fulfilling his promise to complete the Adankolo Community Central Mosque, which the governor had released fund for its completion, adding that many developmental projects would still follow.
The senior special assistant said that many youths in the ward have been empowered in one way or the other including employments.
Aaron also made a cash donation for payment of school fees of one of students in tertiary institution from the community.
In his remarks, the Ward ‘A’ Chairman of APC, Adankolo, Comrade Abdullahi Umar, said that the gathering was meant to foster unity, talk as one big family and collectively speak against the marginalization of their people.
Umar appealed to the state government to listen to their cry and come to their rescue, saying they were dying in silence and that they needed more political appointment from their ward.
“We must always have Ward ‘A’ at heart and fight for ourselves, let us rally adequate support for our representative (Nda Aaron) and GYB/PMB for continuity in 2019,” Umar pleaded.
On his part, the Chief Host, Comrade David Ampitan Abdullahi, said that the Easter get together was an avenue for the people to call their leaders together and rub mind with them, saying ward A is  being marginalized.
“Instead of fighting and quarreling with one another and our leaders, we are coming together to harness the opportunity in our population; we want to see a brand new ward A”, David said.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from all the communities under ward ‘A’ especially the youths, who pledged their support for their leader (Nda Aaron), and to re-elect GYB/PMB come 2019 for continuity of their good works.
Shortly after the meeting, Hon Aaron and other leaders led the youths to the palace of the Royal Father of Adankolo Community, for a courtesy visit and to solicit for his support for GYB/PMB continuity.
In his response, the Royal Father, Chief David Agbayi, commended the ward leadership for their visit and urged them to shun all forms of violence in the society and in the upcoming election.
He commended the governor for releasing fund for the completion of the abandoned Adankolo Community Central Mosque which according to him, it is a promised fulfilled.
The royal father, however appealed to the governor to grant their request for the upgrade of his throne, which has not been upgraded for over 100 years, adding that he was hopeful that the governor would fulfill his promise
He, therefore pledged his continuous support and that of his people for the new direction government including the re-election of GYB/PMB for continuity in 2019, pray God to grant them wisdom to take Kogi and Nigeria to greater heights.
