Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has admonished members of her Association of Women of Substance women in general not to mortgage the future of children by electing wrong candidates.
The philanthropic MIREMCO boss gave the admonition recently in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area in a mini-rally she organised to sensitise the women ahead of the forthcoming general election.
Hajia Hassiat enlightened the women that for smooth governance to be achieved, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) must as a matter of necessity form majority in the legislative arm at both Federal and State levels.
While describing the defection of some APC lawmakers to the opposition parties as unpatriotic, selfish and clog in the wheel of governance, Hajia Hassiat affirmed that Kogi APC has elected renowned personalities like Alhaji Yakubu Oseni (Central), Senator Smart Adeyemi (West) and Isa Jibril Echocho (East) to represent the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
“My dear women, I appreciate your support and steadfastness over the years. However, 100% percent loyalty to our great party is key to consolidation of what President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello have achieved in the last three years.
“Do not allow yourself to be deceived with petty food items by political neophytes in town. To secure the future of your children where job creation and infrastructural development are guaranteed, vote APC. Cast your vote for Alhaji Yakubu Oseni (AYO) who has now become household name and other APC candidates in the forthcoming election”, she admonished.
Meanwhile, Hon. Muktar Onoruoiza Bajeh who is the APC candidate for Okehi Constituency for the state House of Assembly enjoined the people to quickly join the winning team in order to salvage the state.
Hon. Bajeh who rolled out his achievements while he held sway as an appointee of Governor Yahaya Bello said he would sink boreholes in each ward of his constituency when given the mandate.
However, Hajia Hassiat in her routine empowerment scheme gave cash support and wrappers to 45 women.
The highly elated Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Deedat Ozigi Salami eulogised Hajia Hassiat for her uncommon desire to positively touch the lives of the people.
He promised to support the MIREMCO boss in her subsequent empowerment programme.
The MIREMCO boss concluded that the gesture was to further enhance Governor Yahaya Bello’s drive to considerably improve the living standard of the people.
