On September 10, 2015 the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially picked James Abiodun Faleke as the running mate to Prince Abubakar Audu. However, the election was later declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the inability of some registered voters to vote in 91 units and death of Prince Audu. Thus, the APC National Working Committee later unveiled the runner up, Yahaya Bello, as the replacement of Audu which led to various legal battles with INEC but lost the case.

During one of his interviews, Faleke said “I won’t forget my people I still stand with Audu/Faleke mandate.”

Faleke is considered to be a leader per excellence, a philanthropist, a man of large heart and according to a political pundit, “he is one of the biblical prophets of old with political experiences from Lagos who is determined to make reconciliation and forgiveness with warring factions and everyone irrespective of whatever considerations and grievances,” Hon. Admor said.

“Faleke is a grassroots leader and his humility was and had remained infectious. His love and concern for his people is unquantifiable, unquenchable as well as demonstrative through various projects”.

It was believed that Kogites missed the Audu/Faleke ticket because of the recent outburst on the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello calling him names because of the unpaid salaries, stagnant infrastructural development and continual screening which has resulted in loss of lives.

Faleke is not just popular among his followers and the people of Kogi state, he has equally earned favourable relationship with Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and other top politicians with brilliant transformation idea.

James Abiodun Faleke is indeed a long sought political leader of Kogi state and Okunland who has the answer to the plight, tears of Kogi come 2019.
