Unknown gunmen allegedly attacked Hon. Sunday Paul in Lokoja on Thursday.
Paul, who was recently appointed by Kogi State Government to serve as a board member in one of the state owned agencies, was attacked around the popular NUJ Press Centre in Lokoja around 10pm.
According to his associate, Busayo Olateju, the attack was an attempt to take his life.
“The attackers who were all masked and armed carried out the mayhem in front of the NUJ press centre leaving him with severely injured.
“This is one of several attacks on his life few weeks after his appointment as a board member in the Yahaya Bello administration,” she said.
She told Kogireports that the attack has been reported to appropriate security agencies for investigation.
