​8 LG Administrators in Kogi State Nominated for Grassroot Development Award

In a bid to continue to encourage the environmental development of rural areas particularly the rural roads, water supply and the provision of rural infrastructure to improve on the living condition of the people, eight local government administrators in Kogi State have been nominated for the 2017 Grassroot Development Award as part of the activities lined up for the 3rd Annual Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition holding in Lokoja between 17th to 20th October, 2017.

In a statement released to the press, Mr. Yabagi Abdullahi Umar, the Contact Officer of the exhibition, the LG chiefs  nominated includes; Hon. Taofiq Isa (Ijumu), Lawal Shiru (Lokoja), Moses Akande (Ogori-Magongo), Abdulraheem Ohiare (Okehi) Abdulrazaq Muhammed (Okene), Kabiru Idris (Dekina), Baron Okwoli (Igalamela-Odolu) and Samuel Zakari (Bassa)

According to the release, a Committee has been constituted to consider and rectify the nomination after physical visits to some project sites and locations.

The Administrators will be decorated at the opening ceremony of the Exhibition by His Excellency, Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State who is the Special Guest of Honour to the event with the with theme: Indigenous Building Materials: An Alternative Approach to Housing Shortage in a Recessed Economy.

The event is expected to be a sure gathering of tradesmen and professionals in the built environment, manufacturers and suppliers of building materials and government and private practitioners and the policy makers.
