One Dead, House Razed in Agbeji-Anyigba Clash

A young man of about 20 years old, Nurudeen Sanni was killed and three houses razed down with fire at Agbeji-Anyigba in Dekina local government area of Kogi state last week.

According to an eye witness who claimed anonymity, the clashes occurred after two young boys; the deceased and
another at large, were fighting over a girlfriend.

The Chief Administrator of Dekina LGA, Honourable Kabiru Idris and the Ogohi Onu Anyigba, Alhaji Abuh Shaibu Okolo alongside the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Anyigba Police Division, SUPOL Azubuike, the vigilante chairman of Anyigba, Umoru Abuh (Ratty) and the acting vigilante chairman were all at the scene of the incidence.

The Chief Administrator condemned the act in totality and promised the owners of the houses burnt of government’s
readiness to assist them.

He further promised that he will do everything to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book to face the full wrath of the law.

The DPO of Anyigba Division in a joint operation with the Chairman of Anyigba vigilante were able to apprehend 9 youths who are suspected to be cultists. They are already helping with the investigation.

Kabiru also spoke with the father of the deceased on the phone who was not available when contacted at his house.
He was said to have taken his son for burial at his village.

Kabiru visited the arrested suspected cultists in police custody and directed the DPO Anyigba police division to
transfer them to Lokoja after the necessary procedure have been concluded.
