The Chairman Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Council, Comrade Zakito Umar has called on the Local Government Task Force on revenue generation to double up its efforts in generating more revenue so as to augment the allocation from the Federation account.
Comrade Zakito made the call at an interactive meeting with members of the task force in his office shortly on assumption of duty.
He stated that internally generated revenue is of prime importance to the day to day running of the administration in view of the dwindling allocation from the Federation account.
The Chairman therefore urged the task force to explore other areas of revenue generation and also to ensure blockage of revenue leakages, in order to ensure improvement in its accrue able revenue generation.
He commended the efforts of the Task Force for the achievements recorded so far, and assured of the preparedness of his administration to support the task force so as to enable it deliver on its mandate.
In his response, the Chairman of the task force, Mr Wada Agono, thanked the Chairman for initiating the meeting, and assured that they would do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed in them.
