A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Aliyu Zakari Jiya, on Saturday, expressed sadness over the death of Deaconess Comfort Melaye, mother of the Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye.
Jiya, a former governorship aspirant, in a condolence message he personally signed, described late Mama Comfort as an epitome of humility, uprightness and one who was a pillar of support for her husband.
“She was a shining example of a virtuous woman, who stood by her husband and children through thick and thin especially during the period Dino was incarcerated,” Jiya said.
While praying for the peaceful repose of her soul, he urged the deceased husband, Pa Melaye, to take solace in the fact that she has gone to a better place and draw strength from the joyful years they shared together as mother and child
Jiya also commiserated with the children and relatives of the deceased, just as he prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Also, the House of Assembly candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Okene II constituency in the just concluded elections, Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe has extended his heartfelt sympathy Senator Melaye.
He urged the lawmaker to take solace in the knowledge that his late mother is resting in the bossom of her creator.
