In the spirit of the yuletide season, the Member representing Lokoja 11 constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Idris Ndako, has donated food stuffs, worth over N1.5 million to Christians in his constituency.
Speaking during the donation at his Felele residence, yesterday, Ndako said the gesture was in the spirit of the yuletide, adding that it was his desire to alleviate the sufferings of the less privileged ones in the area.
He appealed to corporate organizations and well placed individuals to assist the less privileged people in the society within the limits of their resources.
Responding, Felele Unit chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Dr. Micheal O. Peters, thanked the lawmaker for identifying with the Christian community at this festive period.
Bishop Peters, assured Ndako that the items would be distributed to all the Christian groups in the area..
“We want to assure you that by the grace of God, the distribution would go round all the Christian groups”.
He also expressed the community’s continued support for Hon. Idris Ndako’s political aspirations.
Also speaking, leader of Idoma community in Felele, Mr. Akor Daniel, said the kind gesture showed a sense of unity. “We are really grateful, this is leadership; it is a sense of unity for the nation.
“Ndako is a Muslim and he knows that this cerebration is for Christians and yet he has decided to brighten the hearts of Christians,” Daniel said.
