Youth Vanguard Honors Abdul Adama on Kogi United Success

Chairman of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Kogi United FC, Mallam Abdul Adama has been commended for turning around the fortunes of the club and promotion of Kogi State through sports.

Coordinator of a Kogi Youth Vanguard, a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, Owah David who make the assertion at an award presentation in Lokoja noted that Mallam Adama is reflecting the transformation process and good work by the state government under Governor Idris Wada.

He added that the body’s main motive in its last four years of existence was to identify the good work of sons and daughters of the state that use their offices and organizations to promote accountability and youth development.

“This award is in view of your contributions in developing the state clubs, Kogi United and Confluence Queens, through the offices you’re managing, the two clubs have become a brand and force to be reckon with as against what we know them to be, you’re also promoting accountability, engaging the youths positively,” Owah begins.

“The credibility and good work of Governor Wada is rubbing on Mallam Adama and his activities at his office, his lifestyle is a trailblazer for others to follow and I will like to commend him and other public office holders like Mallam Adama,” said Owah.

The Director of the Youth Vanguard however called on other public office holders to emulate Adama on his outstanding contributions to develop Kogi State.

Responding, Mallam Adama commended the Kogi Youth Vanguard for recognizing what he’s doing to promote the state.

He said the award showed he’s being monitored by people and would spur him to contribute to the development of sports and youths in the state.

“I’m indeed humbled to receive this award, this to me, showed we public office holders are being monitored by those we don’t know, I must confess that this is a challenge for me to do more and promote the state clubs, I want to assure you that I have good people that I’m working with to achieve much and I believe we will still do more to make the state proud,” concludes Adama who is also the Special Adviser to Governor on PPP.

He charged the leadership of the body to use their medium to campaign for youths to end electoral violence and restiveness.
