The traditional ruler of Ojibo-Igah in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi state, Chief Onuche Shaibu has described the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Kogi State Deputy Governor, Hon Promise Emmanuel, as a true son of the soil.
The monarch made this known on Wednesday when Hon. Emmanuel distributed food items and made cash donations to people in Igah Ward 4 unit as part of activities to mark 2019 Christmas season.
Chief Shaibu expressed gratitude to the CPS, adding that the gesture has changed the people’s perception of political office holders.
He pledged the loyalty of his people to the present administration and prayed for the success of Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja.
Making the donations, Hon Emmanuel said the action was part of his efforts to give back to the people irrespective of party affiliation and other differences, stressing that the reason for the season was to touch lives of the less fortunate and spread love.
He said elections were over and that it was time to face real governance, adding that it was also part of his campaign promises to the people that he would not abandon them if given the opportunity to serve in government.
The CPS further noted that he had not forgotten the promise to grade the about three kilometres Igah – Igah Gate road, noting that the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja were promise keepers.
He added that the promise to include the community in the administration’s rural electrification project as part of the Light Up Kogi East also plans to reach the community, stressing that the infrastructural development plans of Governor Yahaya Bello was on course.
Hon Emmanuel expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja for giving young people like himself opportunities to serve in government, adding that unlike in the past when they were overlooked, the youth are being given the opportunity to be part of decision making in government and Kogi State was setting the template for other states of the federation.
He assured the government of the loyalty of the people of the area at all times, adding that they understand the vision of government to impact them positively especially in the second term of Governor Yahaya Bello.
The items donated include food stuff and cash to the six Gagos of the area, youth and women groups as well as party leaders across Igah–Gate, Ugbogbo and Igah–Etukwo.
