Honourable Abdulrashid Musa Ujache, is an entrepreneur and likeable personality whose passion and deep love for empowering youths, especially at the grassroots, has endeared him to the hearts of many. Honourable Ujache, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Medirash Solutions Limited, is a leading aspirant for Idah Federal House of Representatives seat in 2019.
As part of his determination to contribute to the flushing out of illiteracy among young people in Kogi State, a lover of education, Hon. AbdulRashid Musa Ujache has donated text books to all public secondary schools in Idah Federal Constituency comprising Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Odolu and Ofu local government areas.
Presenting the books to principals of the recipient school, Ujache advised college students to shun all vices that are inimical to their education, adding that most of the young people that are involved in acts of thuggery and other criminal acts today are not educated.
Hon. AbdulRashid who said he is a lover of education appealed to students Igala land and the entire Kogi State to imbibe the culture of reading while in school.
This is in the spirit of AbdulRashid’s ‘Operation Flush Out Mass Illiteracy in Kogi State’ initiative. The initiative is to take bold steps towards equipping all secondary schools libraries with modern textbooks.
He stated that the initiative is to compliment the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration in uplifting standard of education in Kogi state.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Yakubu Ugwolawo, thanked the philantropist for equipping school libraries with text books in the area.
He called on the people in positions of affluence to emulate AbdulRashid Musa Ujache in the areas of development of Igala communities.
The chairman used the occasion to advice students not to involve themselves in any acts that may have adverse effect on their studies.
Also speaking, a guest speaker, Dr. Solomon Anyegwu who is also the provost of college of sciences and technology Idah, emphasized the importance of education saying, “if you are educated you would not involve yourself any criminal act.”
Dr. Anyegwu who explained the need for students to face their studies seriously, said most people that are causing problem today are not educated.
Present at the occasion were Achadu Oko-Ata, Alhaji Yusuf Ameadaji, Dr. Yakubu Ugwolawo, former chairman of Ofu LGA, Hon. Yahaya Momoh; former chairman Idah LGA, Hon. Akogu Onuche and principals of schools in Idah Federal Constituency as well as traditional rulers from the area.
