Young Lady Battling With Oral Cancer Cries Out for Help

Sule Musa Rukayat, a patient battling with oral cancer, is seeking financial assistance to enable her get prescribed drugs for her ailment.

Rukaya, an indigene of Iboko in Ofu local government area of Kogi state, was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2018 at Labroma Clinic in Ankpa.

She has been enduring severe pains in the throat which has caused her sleepless nights and torrid days. She has been managing her health since with help from friends and family but it currently at her wits end as she needs ninety nine thousand Naira to procure drugs prescribed for her ailment.

It was gathered that Rukayat’s health challenge started in 2017 when she started experiencing severe pain in her throat and stomach resulting in unusual heart beat rate.

She was taken to a hospital in Lokoja and scan results showed that her stomach was dirty due to an infection. The infection was treated and she got back on her feet.

However, the pains resurfaced in 2018, this time around with a swollen tumor close to her throat. When she ran out of funds, friends advised her to try local herbs but it was to no avail. She resorted to self medication, using pain relievers.

Speaking with our reporter on phone, on Wednesday, her friend, Mawedo Nicodemus said she is currently helpless as she can’t raise funds to afford her medications.

According to Mawedo, doctors have prescribed ‘Super Life Stem Cell STC30’ as a lasting solution to her ailment.

“She can’t eat most of the time. She finds it difficult to talk as it comes with pain, even drinking of water is painful.

“With the little funds she had, Rukayat has visited three different hospitals but there is no improvement in her condition.

“Doctors have recommended that she use Super Life Stem Cell STC30 drug to cure the disease permanently. They recommended four packs of the drug and this will cost her ninety nine thousand Naira.

“We are appealing to the general public to come to her aid and help raise the needed funds to procure the drug to save her life.

Oral cancer appears as a growth or sore in the mouth that does not go away. Oral cancer, which includes cancers of the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and pharynx (throat), can be life threatening if not diagnosed and treated early.
