A political pressure group agitating for the rotation of the House of Representatives seat for Yagba Federal Constituency, Yagba Restoration Mandate (YRM), has told the incumbent Rep member, Hon Leke Abejide to stop exposing himself by clandestinely asking to be the Director General for the second term of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In a statement by the group’s spokesman, Durojaiye Israel, the group chastised the lawmaker for trying to present a posture of himself as a politician with statewide accountability.

The group said asked him to conduct a review of his last governorship contest and see how much of a political neophyte he is.

The Yagba Restoration Mandate further said Hon Leke Abejide is attempting to cause crisis in Yagba Land with his third term ambition which negates the principle of equity, fairness and justice among the three LGAs of the federal constituency.

The group claimed that Yagba people have served Hon Leke enough and it is time to let the office rotate.

They also claimed that the people of Yagba land, since 1999, have not had political divisions on the issue of House of Representatives, stating that the rumored attempt by Elder Leke Abejide to run for third term will spell doom on the political future of Yagba land because it will severely divide the federal constituency to the point that they will never win any elections higher than House of Representatives seat because the third term agenda will create political difference and unavoidable suspicion that would be difficult to manage in future.

The group said Yagba West has served 12 years, Yagba East would have served 12 years by 2027 and Mopa/Amuro has only served 4 years.

Durojaiye said there can be no better way to define injustice, political annihilation and wickedness against Mopa/Amuro people than for Hon Leke or anyone at all outside Mopa/Amuro to contest for the House of Representatives in 2027.

The Yagba Restoration Mandate called on the elders, traditional rulers and opinion makers in Yagba land to immediately call Hon Leke Abejide to order in the interest of the future of Yagba land.

The group urged traditional rulers and elder statesmen in Yagba land not to be blind to the truth starring the federal constituency in the face, encouraging them to be bold, courageous, patriotic and responsible enough to call him to order in order not to create crisis.
