The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has described the death of Hajia Zainab Idris, the wife of the immediate past Governor of the State Alh Ibrahim Idris, as a sad loss to the entire State.
The Deputy Governor made the remarks while fielding questions from newsmen at the funeral of the wife of the former governor, held at Alobi, in Ofu LGA of the State.
The State, Awoniyi noted will miss the motherly role and advise the former first lady was known to offer when it concern issues of women and children.
Awoniyi described Late Zainab Idris as a complete mother and woman whose heart goes out always for the less privileged in the society.
Death, the Deputy Governor disclosed is a necessary end,praised the former first lady for writing her name in the indelible minds of the people through her empowerment programs.
Awoniyi pointed out particularly the former first lady’s passion that was geared towards uplifting the living standard of women and children in the society.
While noting that her good works will remain permanently in the minds of people of the State, the Deputy Governor prayed God to grant the former governor, Alh Ibrahim Idris and the family the late former first lady left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Awoniyi also commiserated with the State Governor Capt Idris Wada,and the good people of the State for the monumental loss of the passing away of the former first lady, urged that the people of the State be consoled by the supportive role the late first lady offered in ensuring that aside the general development of the state, the well being of women and children witnessed remarkable progress under the leadership of the immediate past administration.
