I just woke up this morning and discovered that the Yahaya Bello-led administration in the state is 3 years old. While other second term seeking governors where busy using these years to better the lives of their people in anticipation of a favorable political response when the come knocking and seeking for a second term, our own white lion, Yahaya Bello has used the past years to destroy his second term ambition.
In fact, he dug his political grave by himself. A young energetic governor that has all the opportunities, both economic and human resources, at his disposal to turn the socio-economic fabric of the state around and write his name in the annals of Kogi state as one of the best governor gracefully became confused courtesy of Edward Onoja and other sycophantic cabinet members.
To be candid, a summarized version of the success or failure of this administration can be tabled as follows:
– A geometrical failure in vital socio -economic sectors of the state like health care, education, infrastructure, labour relations, security, poverty alleviation, transportation, youth and women empowerment.
– A geometrical increase in administrative and political criminal activities like embezzlement, fraud, lies, thuggery, witch hunting of opposition etc.
In a nutshell, the administration has assured itself of a no second term ticket via its undoings.
Lastly, I wish to congratulate all Kogites for having the courage to live and survive such a wild and focus-less administration for three years. The last time such administrative tendencies and actions were exhibited and seen was in the state of nature and Animal kingdom.
Thank God, the journey ends by November. No matter how cloudy the sky is, it must have a silver lining.
