Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers and community stakeholders in Kogi State to embrace unity and constructive political engagement as the state looks toward 2027, urging continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Bello made the call during a virtual meeting with Ajaokuta stakeholders in Gadumo, where he highlighted the importance of stability and collective responsibility in sustaining ongoing development efforts at both the federal and state levels.

According to him, the policies being implemented by the Tinubu administration is aimed at strengthening the economy and laying a solid foundation for long-term growth.

“Progress is best achieved when leadership is supported with patience and understanding,” Bello said. “President Tinubu and Governor Ododo have demonstrated commitment to reforms that are designed to reposition Nigeria and Kogi State for future prosperity.”

He encouraged stakeholders to participate actively but peacefully in the political process, noting that early mobilisation and civic engagement help deepen democracy and promote informed decision-making.

Bello described support for the two leaders as a choice for continuity, policy stability, and sustained development, adding that future elections should reflect careful consideration of performance and direction.

“A vote for continuity is a vote for steady progress,” he said. “As 2027 approaches, it should be an opportunity to reflect on achievements made and to support the work that remains.”

The former governor assured traditional rulers and community leaders of ongoing engagement aimed at promoting dialogue, inclusion, and political maturity across Kogi State.

Participants at the engagement expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between government and communities would continue to yield positive outcomes for the state.
