We have seen successive governments fail. Some are deliberate while others are informed by circumstances. But never for once has it been this glaring, that a sitting Governor happily failed, yet, he is super proud and boisterous he did.
For a man who slept and suddenly woke up at the corridor of power, it is incontrovertible that his zenith of failings were circumstantial. After all, he was never prepared for such task and even presented himself without a mantra, but he was abated by some greedy elements parading themselves as progressive minds, and going by existing facts, he apparently wished to fail humanity and disappoint God, as we currently see.
Yahaya Bello has become a scar we’ve learnt to live with because there seems to be nothing anyone could do. His drunkenness and overbearing incapacitation stares, yet, consistently ignited by indiscernible opportunist and profiteers of his corrupt regime who’s thirsts for power eludes that of a tyrant. To God be the glory, what goes around comes around. They now struggles to keep feet in government they murdered sanity just to build. No wonder they say, ‘betrayers are never trusted.
Bello was, and is a colossal failure, that we knew before 2019. But for nationalistic reasons, we laid low and waited to wield the uncompromising power of an electorate. That we did unanimously at the polling units in 2019. But the opportunists and power mongers in cahoots with sleight judiciary, the criminals in uniform and some certified product of street affairs truncated our efforts and the same office was retained with hope that they succeed that Egbira dictator.
Unknowingly, they were playing into the hands of a predator that would consume the ground their bodies are devoured. At the moment, they appeared to have realized a tragic mistake they ought not to have done as the same power they gunned for is slipping away before their very eyes. May every antecedents riddled with such character flaws and amorality learn their lessons the hard way.
Fellow Kogites, I had expected Bello to quietly return to his Agasa kinsmen in 2023. But from the look of things, a rude shock awaits. Amidst innumerable sins, he has consulted widely among his kinsmen and he is doing everything possible to ensure they retain power in 2023.
At the moment, he is building a castle of confusion, flagging a democratic pretender on the altar of prominence ahead of 2023. Still, in this castle of confusion lies overambitious balcony of presidential race that would not see the light of the day.
Painstakingly, because he has failed unrestrained, he does not understand the need for professionalism and competence nets to righting the wrongs. Instead, he is focused on biting the fingers that fed him and elating his kins ahead of time. As usual, merchants of vices are been recruited daily as aides and special advisers. As he deemed fits, everything human is recruited as aide at the expense of tax payers’ sweats.
How can one describe Governor Yahaya Bello? What is the sanest adjective for a known ethnic and tribal sure man? His kinsmen holds sensitive positions in government and he put structures without recourse to a multi-ethnic, multi-religion and lingual society like Kogi state.
Recently, he inaugurated youth development initative. His kinsmen dominated the names of stakeholders. He also appointed about 55 aides and his kits and kin dominated the list. Governor Yahaya Bello empowers the management and staff of Kogi Poly Lokoja, he is doing everything possible to ensure the completion of Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara, but the prestigious Kogi State University is in shamble. Federal Polytechnic in Idah is next to nothing. He is building hospital in Okene, constructing roads and selling off government properties across the 21 Local Governments in the state and beyond just to erect befitting structures for monarchs in Anegbira. But the health institutions in other parts especially the Eastern part of the state is in chaos.
“ATTAH” the prestigious throne in Igala land which has recognized the enfant terrible with titular honours gets nothing other than undue influences and a used Rolls-Royce. The office of he deputy governor; a Kogi East occupant, is more of a glorified SSA’s office, and it operates at his beck and calls.
Anyway, those who point accusing finge at their neighbours easily forgets that while they use just a finger at their neighbour, three others face them and one talks to God. Alas! The hunter is now the hunted. Ironically, it was not about collective interest but greed and self conceits. Mr deputy governor is reaping what he sowed!
Again Bello’s security architecture is just knee-jerks. It is one mouth agape and lies often peddled by cynics, attentions seekers, sycophants and e-minions generally described as “DATA BOYS”. Kogi is haven to all manner of crimes. From cultism to banditry, kidnapping, raping and robbery, our dear state is not safe. Under Bello’s watch percentage payment of salaries to selected workers has come to stay. He chooses who gets what at the end of the month. Even among his recruited data boys, there must be some level of certainty in your loyalty to be able to earn your pay.
I was on the street of Lokoja few days ago and I saw an appointee trekking barefooted under the sunny hot weather. He looks so malnourished and I said to myself; Yahaya Bello must be occupying the same leadership seat with Lucifer his mentor. If not, how can he be this heartless? He has borrowed so much and has done nothing with it. Besides, he has money to host celebrities from the bar, football fields and TV screen. Yet, pensioners die for lack of proper medical care, civil servants beg for meals to survive and government appointees are now corporate beggars. How did we get here? Shockingly, many are willing to resign their appointments but their lives are at stake. So they have to pretend smiling while suffering.
Dear Kogites, I am not for tribe, race or religion. I stand for character, competence and professionalism. Whoever has the wherewithal has my support. Therefore, Yahaya Bello’s castle of confusion harbouring an overrated ambition of Anebira dominating Kogi state is lethargic, uncouth and imperiled. The Idea that an Egbira man must succeed him is laughable and childish. Believing he could heat up qualms among elites from Kogi East just to ensure his Egbira minion succeeds him is intolerable.
Finally, there are numerous Hushpuppi in Lugard house. They have stolen so much from the treasury that an independent hand is needed for repatriation and probably send them on exile. In short, Yahaya Bello should relocate to EFCC’s office and answer pending questions after his regime instead of parading himself as Anegbira Messiah. It is not possible to eat your cake and have it, my take!
