In line with the decision to elect its presidential candidate through direct primaries, the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ward D of Lokoja local government converged at the Ward Centre as early as 9 am on to affirm the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party faithfuls led by APC Ward chairman, Barrister Yahaya Danlami adopted direct election as approved by the party to elect President Muhammadu Buhari as the party candidate for 2019 election.
Speaking after the congress, Barrister Yahaya described the congress as successful, peaceful and credible.
He appealed to APC supporters to remain steadfast and supportive of the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Grassroot Mobilization, Hon Sulaiman Baba’ango appealed to Nigerians to support Buhari’s second term bid which he said is “not for personal interest but meant to fight corruption and consolidate on the good work he started.”
The Congress was attended by Hon. Maikudi Bature, APC Chairman Lokoja Local Government, party executives and all the five political appointees from the area.
