The leading House of Representatives aspirant for Yagba Federal Constituency seat in the forth coming grnrtal elections, Henry Tuesday Abimbola flagged off his campaign amidst pomp and pageantry.
At the flag-off ceremony in Mopa on Sunday, Abimbola told the cheering crowd that he won’t breach their trust in him.
The event which started on Saturday in what can be described as a triumphant entry of the aspirant into his community, Takete-Ide Amuro, climaxed on Sunday starting with a courtesy visit to the Elulu of Mopa, HRH Oba Julius Joledo before proceeding to Cruise Memorial College, Mopa for the main event. The colourful event will remain the talk of the town for a very long time.
Delegates from the three local government started arriving the venue as early as 10 am all waiting for the arrival of the aspirant.
Among dignitaries that witnessed the occasion today were; Deputy APC Chairman Kogi State, Hon Abdulraham Ibrahim; State Legal Adviser, Zonal APC Chairman, Assistant Secretary, APC party chairmen of the three local government areas of Yagba Federal constituency.
Other dignitaries includes APC Zonal Women Leader, party executives.
The occasion was also witnessed by top government appointees among whom were; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Mrs Bolanle Amupitan; Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths, Employment, Sports and Student Affairs, Hon M.D Eseyin, SSA to the Governor’s wife on Media, Hon Olamide Adesoro, SSA Project Monitoring, Hon Toba Adebayo and others.
In his opening remarks, member representing Mopamuro constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abayomi Pedro spoke glowingly of how Hon. Henry Abimbola almost single-handedly financed the defunct ACN which later laid the foundation for today’s APC in Mopamuro local government and Yagba land.
“Hon Henry T financed the party from his pocket even when he had no political ambition. That I became a honourable member of the Kogi State House of Assembly today was of God and the benevolence of Henry T,” he said.
Speakers after speakers highlighted the good qualities of Hon Henry Abimbola, especially his philanthropic gestures across Yagba land spanning over twelve years.
They explained that his antecedent informed the reasons many see his ambition as one borne out of a selfless passion to serve.
The speakers were of the opinion that the candidature of Abimbola will further boost the certainty of the party’s victory in forthcoming general election across Yagba Federal Constituency.
The man of the moment. Henry Tuesday Abimbola in his declaration and flag off speech, thanked the people who really believe in his dream to give Yagba a representation with a difference.
“Serving you is what drives me, I will not breach your trust in me,” he declared.
He anchored his manifestos on five cardinal points of education, job creation, enabling opportunities, security and general well being.
