Crusade
This brings me to another objection most people raise when I talk about having a crusade. They say Prince I am just one person. What can one person do that could probably make a difference in this huge world of ours? Or Prince I am just an ordinary person, people like me can’t be in loved in big movements.
What about people like Ghandhi and Albert Schweitzer? All were just one person with no particular vision of greatness. But their dedication to a crusade was responsible for dramatic changes in the world.
I read in a book in a town in California a young house wife and a mother was devastated by the death of her thirteen year old daughter who was killed in a car accident. The driver of the other vehicle was drunk and had a record of previous drunk driving arrest. Feeling the heartbreak of her own situation and the heartbreak of so many other mothers who had shared a similar situation, SHE DECIDED TO TAKE ACTION. She simply refused to sit back and do nothing. She organised a group of mothers in her area with the aim of getting the drunk drivers off the road by making them accountable for their victims death. The mothers held press conferences, seminars, roadshows and workshops. They took their concerns to court, to district attorneys and to traffic offices.
Just think about it in 1980, it was not a group of influential people or legislators or lawmakers, we are talking about house wives.
Despite all the brick walls and obstacles they persisted.
Finally they reached an assembly woman who introduced a bill, slowly people began to take them serious, eventually the entire country was awakened to the seriousness of the problem and MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING began to make their mark.
Today there are more than one thousand anti drunk driving laws.
Endeavour to build a crusade.
WE NEED OUR TURN IN THE ROTATION, NO ALTERNATIVE TO THE TRUTH. IF WE STAY WTH THE TRUTH OUR CRUSADE WILL BE REGARDED BY POSTERITY. IN THE OTHER HAND WHETHER WE STAY WITH THE TRUTH OR NOT, POSTERITY WILL STILL JUDGE.
