The Yagba Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate for Accord Party at the March 28, general election. Hon Abdulganiyu Salaudeen, a.k.a Erukutu Yagba has expressed optimism that he would roundly win the election.

Hon Salaudeen, a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and one-time chairman of Yagba-East Local Government Council, in a chat with The Graphic at the weekend, said he remains the candidate to beat at the election.

Hear him “without sounding boastful, I am the candidate to beat at the March 28 National Assembly poll. I have as a politician paid my dues and earned the confidence of my people. It is about my precedence. In all the positions I have been privileged to occupy, I have never side-lined the people who freely gave me their votes”.

According to him, it was the people’s prompting that made him threw his hat into the ring once again, pointing that, the people’s prompting is an indication of the implicit confidence they have in him.

“When I was denied the ticket in the All Progressives Congress (APC), it was the people that made the choice that we move to the Accord Party. I can say without any fear of contradiction that if there are only two grassroots politicians in Yagba, I am one of them. As a politician, I don’t despise anybody. I am accessible 24/7”.

On why he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said, “I did not envisage that the party will be taken over by dictators and as a democrat, I cannot stand such”.

The PDP, he said, has allowed itself to be hijacked by a few individuals, whose sole motive is to perpetuate themselves in power and such people, he explained, “don’t care or respect existing arrangement put in place for peaceful co-existence”.

Hon Salaudeen maintained that it is the turn of Yagba-East to field candidate for the Yagba-East Federal Constituency, pointing out that the insistence of the incumbent to have a second term, is against the existing arrangement and according to him, “the plan will fail flatly”.
