Barely one week after two Chinese were kidnapped in Kogi state, three other Chinese were yesterday kidnapped again in the state by unknown gunmen.
We gathered that the three Chinese were kidnapped at a quarry in a suburb of Lokoja metropolis in the early hours of Thursday.
It was also learnt that the more than 12 gunmen stormed the company premises where they reside between 4am and 5am and engaged the five policemen attached to the company in a gun battle. The three Chinese were kidnapped after the police were out gunned.
One policeman was killed while another was wound in the shoot-out, sources said.
Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Ogunjemilusi, who confirmed the incident, said the gunmen escaped with their hostages on foot through the bush, adding that the police are on their trail.
