Chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Mopamuro local government, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny, has congratulated teachers on the occasion of 2024 World Teachers’ Day (WTD) celebration.
In a statement on Saturday, the Chairmanship candidate and his Vice, Comrade Joy Dalumo, expressed appreciation for the significant role teachers play in nation-building.
The duo promised that, when elected, their administration will work tirelessly to ensure that teachers’ entitlements, working conditions, and career progression are enhanced and secured.
“Today, we celebrate you, the true pillars of knowledge and builders of our society. Your commitment, dedication, and selflessness in shaping the future of our children and our community cannot be overstated.
“You are the foundation upon which the future of our nation is built, and we acknowledge the sacrifices you make daily to educate and nurture the leaders of tomorrow.
“Your passion for imparting knowledge is a testament to your love for humanity, and today we salute your unwavering dedication.
“Under our administration, the welfare of teachers in Mopamuro Local Government Area will be given top priority. We reject the notion that teachers’ rewards are only in heaven.
“While your contributions to society are undoubtedly priceless, we believe you deserve tangible and timely rewards here on earth, and this will be one of our core focuses.
“You can be rest assured that we will create policies and initiatives that will elevate the teaching profession and support your noble efforts,” the statement read.
The candidates said their goal is to establish a system where teachers are adequately motivated, appreciated, and provided with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their invaluable roles.
“As we approach the October 19th Council election, we appeal to you to continue in your service to humanity with the same selflessness and dedication, and we promise that with your support, together, we will build a Mopamuro that values and uplifts its teachers.”
