Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 governorship election in Kogi state, has assured his supporters of his resolve to reclaim their “stolen mandate”.
In a statement on Friday, Ajaka urged the people of Kogi state not to be discouraged but remain resilient.
Ajaka, who expressed gratitude to Kogi electorate, said “on this warm Friday, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you who have tirelessly stood by our cause, no matter the challenges we face. Overcoming oppression and intimidation is never easy, but together, we can find the strength to rise above it and achieve victory.
“I want you to remember that our fight is not just about us; it is about creating a better future for all. It is about standing up for justice, equality, and compassion. The path we have chosen may be filled with obstacles, but let us not forget that history is shaped by the persistence and resilience of those who refuse to surrender.
“In the face of long adversity we’ve faced in Kogi, it is easy to feel discouraged. Doubts may creep in, and fear may try to cloud our vision. But we must never lose sight of our goals and the positive change we hope to create in our beloved State. Ajaka is currently challenging the election of Governor Usman Ododo of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the governorship election petition tribunal, as well as his non qualification to even contest the primary election of the party.
