World Bank Spends $7m on Fadama Project in Kogi

The World Bank Country Director in Nigeria Marie Fracoise Marie-Nelly said at the weekend that the bank has so far committed $7 million into Fadama projects across Kogi State.

Speaking in Osara- Gada in Adavi Local Government Area while inspecting some of the projects executed in the state by the World Bank, she said the bank is committed to eradicating poverty in Nigeria through Fadama.

“Fadama is important to the communities where the projects are cited, as it has brought value chain to their farm produce. Now the next thing is to scale up the projects by aggregating their activities so that they can increase production. We are in the process of increasing our contributions to Fadama as well,” she said.

Earlier, Fadama coordinator in Kogi State, Paul Ogunmola told the country director that the  state is prompt in the payment of its counterpart fund.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Femi Bolarin reiterated the state’s commitment towards meeting it obligations to the people.
