Labour Day a.k.a May Day is celebrated to honour labourers and workers for their hard work. Kogi State Civil Servants exhibits strong work ethic, exercises positive attitude to their work, displays strong systematic and organisational abilities. They are also good listeners, to mention a few.

Kogi State Civil Servants are not lazy but are diligent and hardworking. As such, they are entitled to their wages (Salaries and Pensions).

Your Excellency, these sets of ‘diligent’ and ‘genuine’ workers whose salaries and pensions have been withheld inexplicably by your administration are literally crying out; they have largely been reduced to paupers and mendicants who can no longer provide for their families.

It is unfortunate and saddening that the cases of suicide and avoidable untimely deaths have been recorded among Kogi State workers. A rebuttal to this claim would be that these victims of your non-chalance are emotionally weak. However, in a saner climes events like these can be the catalyst to an uprising and anarchy in the state.

The 2018 Workers’ Day is an opportunity for your government to right the wrongs by paying ALL outstanding salaries and pensions. It is high time your administration prove the rationale behind the protracted screenings viewed by many as a fiendish and vindictive attempt by your administration to weaken the growing frustrated civil servants.

Do not let posterity remember your government as an unscrupulous one whose notoriety served to alienate the civil service and sink the state into depths of despair and melancholy. The world is watching !!!

Happy Workers’ Day 2018.
