Lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Friday, hosted the British Deputy High Commissioner, Gill Lever, and other officials of the British embassy at her Abuja residence.
Top of the agenda of the meeting was a bill on women’s inclusion in politics. The bill is aimed at strengthening women’s participation in politics in Nigeria and to create a friendly environment to encourage more women in politics.
The Kogi lawmaker highlighted her achievements so far ranging from employment creation, skill acquisitions, community development, amongst others.
Reacting, the British Deputy High Commissioner, Gill Lever, hailed the lawmaker’s courage in making a mark in Nigerian politics.
Other officials of the British Embassy at the meeting included, Acting Political Counsellor/Head of Political Section, Natalie Palmer, and Senior Political Advisor, Damilola Oyedele.
