Currently, Prince Yahaha Oyidi Audu is challenging the outcome of the APC primaries which produced Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho as the party flag bearer. The case, which is currently at the Appeal Court with Appeal No. CA/A/173/19, is asking the Court to declare the Appellant as the authentic candidate of APC in Kogi East and not Echocho.
No doubt, we have similar cases as this were candidates who won election lost out in Court on such ground.
Secondly, the Hadi Ametuo-led faction are also in Court seeking to be declared as the authentic APC Exco in Kogi State. With the parallel APC Exco in the state, the Hadi Ametou is praying the court to declare the Yahaya Bello imposed APC Exco as illegal.
If the case goes in the way of Hadi Ametou just like what happened in Delta State, where the APC state faction that conducted the state primaries was declared illegal making Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who just won the just concluded senatorial, on the verge of losing his seat.
Also, Senator Ali Attai Aidoko who took second in the Kogi East Senatorial Election had gone to the Election Tribunal to challenge the victory of Alhaji Jibril Isah Echocho on the grounds that the election was fraught with irregularities and violence.
We all know Senator Ali Attai Aidoko to be a master when it comes to winning Court cases and finding his way in the judiciary.
These are crucial issues that can determine the fate of who will actually represent Kogi East in Senate on the long run.
