Why Politics Must Not Fail in Ane Ayegba Om’Idoko: A Sacred Call from Throne of Conscience

In the name of our ancestors and under the watchful eyes of Ayegba Om’Idoko, I, Onu Awohi Attah, write from the stool entrusted to me by history, to speak truth in a season when silence has become too costly. Our land, Ane Ayegba Om’Idoko, is not just soil and stones — it is a sacred altar. It was bathed with the blood of a king who laid down his life that his people might live. That sacrifice must not be mocked by the failures of today’s politics.

I speak not as a politician, but as a brother and custodian of a sacred legacy. Leadership in this land is not a contest of ambition; it is a covenant with the ancestors. It is a duty to remember the blood that birthed our identity. But today, what do we see? Selfishness where there should be service, rivalry where there should be unity, greed where there should be grace. Have we forgotten who we are? Shall the altar of sacrifice become a platform for deceit and betrayal?

Once, the elders led with integrity. They governed as servants, not masters. They listened to the cries of their people and carried their burdens with dignity. Today, too many of those who seek power come not to serve, but to rule. They forget that the crown they wear was purchased with the life of a king. A leader who forgets the blood that birthed his throne has cursed his reign.

Look around: our roads crumble, our schools decay, our hospitals are empty, and our youth wander without hope. From Ibaji to Dekina, from Ankpa to Idah, the cries of the people rise like incense — not for miracles, but for memory. They are asking: Where are the leaders who remember the covenant of Ayegba?

Politics in Ane Ayegba Om’Idoko is not an ordinary affair. It carries the weight of destiny. Every decision made here echoes through generations. Those who hold power must ask themselves: Am I honouring the sacrifice of Ayegba Om’Idoko, or am I betraying it?

I call on every leader, every representative, every son and daughter of this land: return to the path of service. Let politics be guided by truth, not deceit; by compassion, not corruption. Let the youth rise with integrity, not with violence. Let elders speak wisdom, not flattery. Let those who lead remember that power is fleeting, but legacy is eternal.

The ancestors are watching. The rivers remember. The hills still echo the cry of sacrifice. To fail politically in this land is to invite the judgment of history. But to lead with conscience is to win the blessings of both the living and the dead.

I, Onu Awohi Attah, say this with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit: politics must not fail in Ane Ayegba Om’Idoko. We must return to the values that made us great — justice, service, sacrifice, and truth. Let every leader rise, not for wealth, but for worth; not for title, but for trust.

If we remember the blood that built this land, we will build a future worthy of its sacrifice. If we forget, the land itself will rise to remind us.

May the spirit of Ayegba guide our conscience. May our politics honour our past. And may our leadership restore hope to the people.
