It is common within the masses especially here in Nigeria to assign blames on the government for the failure of the country. This is because here in our home country “Nigeria” we found out that alot of things are not really working or in the proper condition as they ought to be. This has led many Nigerians to accusing the government solely for the failure of things in our country.

However I would like to draw our attention to something very common in this country and thus each time a present government is ruling, we the masses always crave for a change and transition of government, hopping that the next government would bring absolute liberation to the masses. Although, often times from history we discover that even if another government emerge in this country, things always remain the same and the masses go on complaining and this go on and on and on.

From all the above, this leaves us with one delicate question; “When will a government that will liberate the masses in all ramifications emerge in this country?” Lets take a look at our government presently, the masses are of the opinion that the previous government failed just because of its inability to efficiently tackle corruption and insecurity within the north east. As a result of this Nigeria began to crave for a transition in government which was archieved at the end of the day. After the emergence of the new All Progressive Congress (APC) government, all Nigerians were hoping for was immediate change which was the slogan of the political party, although even after the emergence of the APC government piloted by President Muhammed Buhari, things were still not restored to their proper condition and perhaps some things may have gone worse than it was.

However the present APC government is more focused on tackling corruption and insecurity within our nation which is a very reasonable thing to do. Moreover in an attempt to do this they left the economy of the nation to suffer as people believe and hence more interested in tackling corruption and the insecurity.

Well the hard truth is this anyway, government is always like that and would always remain that way, they cant always live up to the expectation of the people. Perhaps that’s why we see government all aspect or sector of the nation running perfectly well simultaneously, thus there must always be a loop hole somewhere.

Some will think the politicians or the government have completely failed the people, but I personally think there can never or will never be a government that will completely solve the problems of the people, and perhaps only god can be capable of that. This could be attributed by the fact that most times when government is taking decision they are always left with two options and thus “a terrible option and an even worse one”. As a result of this narrowed option what the government do most times is chose the terrible option and then try to explain to the public why they have to go with it.

Nevertheless, political problems can just be very complex most times and this keeps us wondering; “Why aren’t the politicians doing the right thing?” But what if we come to realize that there is no such thing as the right thing in politics. Whatever you do in politics you must always have someone not comfortable with them. You can never please everyone at the same time and you see that’s the major problem in politics, it’s not always the fault of the politicians but rather the system.

I am not taking side with the politicians, but I just want to make us understand that we can’t put our hope solely on the government to create solutions to all our problems, for as long as we do that we shall always remain disappointed at the end of the day and so instead of thinking of what the government can do for us, I think its high time we think of what we rather can do for the government.

I will like to use this medium to advice our politicians that they can always be doing things in a good way that the people would think they took their problems seriously. Every time we give public speeches we have to show people that we are like them and always ready to fight for their own interest, and not telling them we are fighting for their own interest while we are busy accumulating wealth for ourselves and living a luxurious life and flying first class with public fund. I know sometimes it could just be difficult to do the right thing, but notwithstanding we have to involve the people in the policy making because in the real sense what politics is all about is the people.
