With the eventual submission and subsequent clearance by the House of Assembly, some notable names were conspicuously missing in the Commissioner’s list.
It is an open secret that most of the politicians who served in Alhaji Ibrahim Idris (Ibro) cabinet fought tooth and nail to make Wada’s Commissioner’s list. These gentlemen are well known grassroots career politicians.
Notably amongst them are erstwhile commissioner for finance, Abiodun Ojo, ex-commissioner for works, Dr. Abubakar Adama, ex-commissioner for science and technology, Professor Aaron Baba and ex-commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Chief T.J. Faniyi.
These politicians had reportedly mounted pressure on their leader, Ibro, to ensure they return as commissioners under Wada having worked immensely for Wada’s emergence as governor.
These politicians truly worked hard for Wada during the last governorship election and it is to be seen how they will be rewarded for their labours.
The question on many lips is, “What’s next for these hardworking career politicians?”
Will they descend low and accept smaller positions just to make ends meet?
Will they resign to fate and hope for a better tomorrow?
Will they remain loyal to Wada and Ibro?
