Welfare: Government Reassure Kogi Workers

Kogi State Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi, has assured that the administration of Capt Idris Wada will continue to place the welfare of its workforce a top priority.

The State Deputy Governor made the remarks at the end of year goodwill message to staff of the Deputy Governor’s office, whom he disclosed contributed greatly to the smooth running of government in the outgoing year.

Awoniyi maintained that the present administration under the leadership of Capt Idris Wada will not do anything that will jeopardize the existing industrial harmony in the State.

Awoniyi described the civil service as engine of administration that has lived up to expectation in the state, and assured of Capt Wada’s commitment to continue to adhere to the implementation of regular payment of salaries that will ensure improve quality of lives for its workers.

Awoniyi urged workers to disregard rumour making the round of the State Government plan to retrench workers in the State public service, rather he reiterated Capt Wada’s determination and renewed commitment in ensuring that the welfare of workers, even amidst economic challenges faced by States of Federation to implement and pay the national minimum wage remains a priority.

Awoniyi expressed appreciation to workers of the Deputy Governor’s office and others in the State Government service for contributing and being part of the transformation agenda of the Capt Wada’s administration, assuring that with their continuous support now and in the future, the Capt Wada administration will be spurred to unveil more incentives and packages that will improve their welfare.
