In a press statement issued this morning 16th November, 2013 in Kabba, Oladele John Nihi, CEO Fundel Global Resources Ltd and publisher, OKUN AMBASSADORS MAGAZINE organizer ÀRÈWÁ OKUN 2014 Beauty Pageant, a beauty contest among Okun Ladies says, they are 75% ready for the event which is the first of its kind in Okun Kingdom coming up 21st December, 2013.
First and foremost, I want to sincerely appreciate the good people of Okun Kingdom, our traditional rulers, political leaders, businessmen and women, youths and students who has contributed in one way or the other to the success we have recorded so far in our preparation for this wonderful event structured towards the advancement and promotion of our cultural heritage in Okun Kingdom. Top on the list of sponsors who has so far contributed to this programme is the CEO/Managing Director b72Printing Press Ltd & Publisher, Edge Magazine.
I want to say categorically that, we are 75% ready and prepared for this contest and therefore it will not be wrong saying the programme itself is a success already. This is because, our posters are out, contestants are picking their forms on a daily bases, gift items are coming in from sponsors, the awareness out there is great and many more.
We therefore call on our leaders especially our political office holders and well meaning Okun Sons & Daughters to contribute generously to make this indigenous contest a reality and an envy of other ethnic groups not only in Kogi State but Nigeria as a whole.
TO QUALIFY/REQUIREMENT TO CONTEST:
1. You must be an indigene of Okun Kingdom in Kogi State
2. You must be between 18-30years of age and single
3. You must speak Okun dialect or Yoruba fluently
4. Know more about our culture and Heritage
5. A 5X6 photograph

ACTIVITIES
1. 5days FUN Camping beginning from 15th December, 2013 during which
i. Contestants will be trained and equipped for the contest
ii. Contestants will be taking on Tour round major cities in Okun Kingdom
iii. Swimming, party, cooking, games & mini competition during camping
