Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has said that the unhealthy development in the People Democratic Party (PDP) compelled most governors to temporarily abandon their duty posts and relocate to Abuja.

The governor stated this during an interactive session with journalists to mark the second anniversary of his administration in Lokoja.

Wada said “I and my colleagues cannot afford to sit by and watch while the nation is shaking”, describing the last few months as a trying period for the PDP.

“Anything that affects the ruling party affects the entire nation. It is the collective resolve of PDP governors that the nation stays together as one indivisible entity. Allowing the crisis that rocked the ruling party to continue unabated would amount to irresponsibility on our part, hence various dynamic meetings were held in Abuja with a view to amicably resolve the dispute,” he said.
