The governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada yesterday relaxed the 6pm to 6am curfew imposed on Okene residents to 9pm to 6am.

It will be recalled that the governor imposed the curfew in the wake violent attacks on churches and mosques in Okene town.

The regime of the curfew has paralysed commercial activities in Okene. Travelers who have to pass through Okene also experienced hard times.

The new curfew regime might not be unconnected with the need for commuters coming into Lokoja from the east to pass through the longer Ajaokuta-Okene road due to the devastating effects of flood in Lokoja that has badly affected the shorter route.
