The Kogi state Governor, Captain Idris Wada has charged the new Aguma of Bassa Kingdom, Chief Keke Jimba Williams to embrace tolerance in the struggle to bring the needed unity in Bassa land.
Captain Wada who made the call over the weekend while presenting staff of Office to the newly elected Aguma of Bassa at the Palace of the new Aguma, noted that the Staff of Office is a symbol of authority and responsibilities in accordance with the law of the land in the service of the people.
He expressed joy with the prevailing peace, religious tolerance and unity in Kogi as he urged the people to sustain the tempo.
The Governor assured to continue to accord traditional rulers in the state with their due respect in view of their vital roles to ensure peace as he charged the Aguma of Bassa to use his position to impact positively on the lives of his subject as well as boosting peace, unity and justice at his domain.
Captain Wada described the occasion as very historical which will go a long way to enhance the cultural heritage of the people of Bassa Kingdom.
It would be recalled that the late Joseph Daku Kpongbo reigned between 1998-2012, which led to the appointment of Chief Keke Jimba Williams on the 27th November, 2013 by the Kogi state Governor, Captain Idris Wada.
