Wada Hails New Naval Chief Appointment

Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for appointing Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin as the Chief of Naval Staff.

Jibrin is an indigene of the state.

Wada made the commendation when he hosted the new appointee at State banquet at the Government House in Lokoja.

He commended the new Chief of Naval Staff for his contribution to the growth of the state and security awareness campaign through various programmes aimed at halting security challenges.

The Governor urged the youths of the state to be patient, focused and determined as well as emulate Jibrin, pledging to create a conducive atmosphere for those aspiring to achieve their dreams.

The new Chief of Naval Staff promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by the President in line with best global practices and ensure a legacy of a potent, efficient, well trained, sufficiently equipped and highly motivated Naval Force.

He also promised to re-position NNS Lugard and Naval Outpost at Idah for their statutory roles of combating crime on the nation’s waterways.
