After three consecutive victories, Kogi Confluence Beach Soccer club has emerged winners of the 2013 CBN Beach Soccer Challenge Cup on Sunday.

The Lokoja Beach boys earned a 9-2 victory after they pounded hosts, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Beach Soccer Club in the final at the Accra Street, Wuse Zone 5 behind Ibro Hotel in the Nigeria administrative capital, Abuja.

FCT BSC was literally hosts but couldn’t live up to the billings despite the support of home fans failed to provide them the required
magic to lift the beach-converted knock-out tournament.

The Supersand Eagles head coach Adamu Audu Ejor led Kogi Beach boys dominated by Nigeria Beach Soccer National team players completed their scintillating winning streak to emerge champions.

Confirming their dominance on the back of the road of final, the Confluence Beach boys thrashed Team Kaduna 7-4 on Saturday evening at the Accra street of Zone 5 Beach pitch, after hammering Aso Saving team 10-1 in their opening on Friday.

The annually organised Challenge Cup’s second edition despite the Lokoja based contingents’ first appearance capitalised on the absence of defending champions, Fidelity Bank Beach Soccer Club to triumph.

The Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State sponsored Beach Soccer winning team are expected back in the state capital, Lokoja on Monday morning with the trophy.
