The leadership of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Kogi State chapter has debunked the purported vote of no confidence allegedly passed on the State executives and the suspension of the chairman of the party describing those behind the reports as impostors who are not party members.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on the issue, Ben Nweke the Kogi State secretary of the party said it is important to refute the claim made by some impostors particularly Danjuma Muhammed who is not a member of APGA.
He explained that the Muhammed claimed in the media that they have passed a vote of no confidence on the State executives of the party and suspended the chairman.
“No one gives what he has not, Muhammed is not a member of APGA not to even talk of organizing a State congress. Moreover State congresses are directed by the national secretariat.
“No State will organize any conference without permission from the national headquarters. There was no iota of truth in their claim. They are going about swindling people, the public should disregard them as they can not be speaking for APGA.”
According to him, the State chairman of APGA is Abdullazeez Arikora while his humble self (Nweke) remains the secretary.
The acting chairman Abdulazeez M. Arikora while brandishing his letter of introduction addressed to the electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Kogi State and duly signed by the national secretary Labaran Maku indicated that there is no other better evidence than the letter.
He said when he read the publication he was taken aback because whatever the party does must be mandated by the National secretariat.
“So it is wrong for some persons to be deceiving Kogi people. I want the general public to disregard the group that are not known to the party.
He said in the procedure for membership of the party, the ward chairman must be able to identify each member even before the State.
